The Lunch Exception form has been moved to the Job and Mileage Form. You will see a check box at the bottom of the sheet that says "Final Job". After you complete your final job, check the box and answer the questions that follow.
At Medley Communications we believe that providing meal breaks and rest periods is not only a legal obligation but is critical to the safety and well-being of our employees. Because of this, we have created a policy that allows our employees to take breaks at their discretion. Because our Technicians do not have any requirements or obligations that interfere with their ability to stop working and take breaks, we have made it a clear policy at Medley that all employee have the right and ability to stop work and take a rest break, or lunch break at any time at their discretion.
1) Employee does not need any manager approval. 2) All breaks will be uninterrupted. 3) Employee breaks supersede any obligation to make an appointment window. 4) If on a jobsite, a break may be taken at any time. We require our employee to inform the customer. A customer becoming frustrated with the technician is never a reason to not take a break. Apologize to the customer and request assistance from a supervisor to explain our policy to the customer. 5) Even though our policy states that every employee has the right to take breaks at their discretion, if there is ever a time where an employee feels he does not have the time to take a break, he is required to contact a Manager and communicate the situation. In order to ensure the integrity of our policy, Medley Communications has designed and implemented a daily lunch exception form that is required to be completed when an employee chooses not to take his lunch break within the provided time.
